Crime Doesn’t Pay But Crime Stoppers Does!

Decatur and Macon County Area Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $2,500 when a felony arrest is made as a result of the information that you provide. Crime Stoppers will also pay $500 or more for information that leads to an arrest on the Crime of the Week. Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name. Crime of the Week 4/21/25

The Decatur Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in solving this week’s Crime of the Week.

On April 13, 2025, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of North Gulick Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located numerous shell casings at the intersection of North Gulick and West Center Street, as well as a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire near the scene.

During the investigation, officers spoke with several residents in the area and obtained descriptions of two suspects:

  • Suspect 1: Described as a dark-skinned Black male, approximately 16 years old, between 5’6” and 5’7” tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing thin glasses and a black hooded sweatshirt.
  • Suspect 2: Described as a light-skinned Black male, also approximately 16 years old, between 5’8” and 5’9” tall with a thin build. He was reportedly wearing a dark ski mask and dark-colored clothing.

Prior to the incident, both suspects were observed walking with two light-skinned Black females, also believed to be around 16 years of age.
