Crime of the Week 11/6/23
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
At two separate times On October 29th, 2023 the Decatur Police responded to the 2100 block of E Roosevelt in reference to a shooting.
In both instances’ officers arrived on scene and observed shell casings in this block. In one instance officers observed a parked vehicle to have multiple bullet defects.
Several individuals on scene were interviewed and had no suspect information.
In one incident a neighbor observed a medium built b/m, wearing a brown jacket standing in the street holding a handgun. This suspect fired numerous rounds and ran westbound from the scene.

Crime of the Week 10/11/21
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On July 10th, 2021 at approximately 11:30 P.M. Decatur Police and Fire responded to the 1600 block of W Leafland in reference to an aggravated arson. Officers arrived on scene and observed the rear portion of a residence on fire. The Decatur Fire department was able to extinguish the fire and two bottles of lighter fluid were observed next to the rear of the house which were left by a suspect.
Neighboring residents observed an individual dressed in all black colored clothing, along with a black ski mask at the back of this residence just prior to the fire. This individual was later observed running in a S/W direction from the residence.

Crime of the week 9/20/21
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On September 16th, 2021 at approximately 12:30 A.M. Decatur Police responded to Apex Petroleum gas station located at 2185 E Wood in reference to an armed robbery.
Officers arrived on scene and spoke to an employee who advised a suspect armed with a handgun entered the business and demanded money. This suspect then fired one round from his gun towards the counter. After firing his weapon, the suspect then exited the store and fled on foot north bound from the business.
The suspect is described as a b/m, late 20’s to early 30’s, 5’11” with an average build. The suspect was wearing a white surgical mask, black hooded Nike shirt, blue/green surgical gloves, and gray colored shoes. The suspect ‘s gun was 9mm caliber which was chrome and black in color.

Crime of the week 8/23/21
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On July 26th at approximately 1:10 P.M., Decatur Police responded to the intersection of E Condit / N Illinois in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and observed numerous shell casings near this intersection. A short time later a gunshot victim arrived at St. Mary’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This victim was uncooperative with police.
The investigation revealed a Blue colored Ford Escape occupied by the victim and another unknown b/m were shot at by the occupants of a white colored car.
