Crime of the week 1-30-23
Crime Stoppers in the Decatur / Macon County area need your help regarding an aggravated cruelty to an animal.
On January 24th at approximately 8:30A.M., Macon County Deputies were dispatched near the intersection of Illiniwick / Sawyer Rd. just outside of Forsyth.
Deputies arrived on scene and observed a large breed, brindle colored dog locked inside a crate. The dog was deceased and appeared to have been neglected for a lengthy period of time. The dog was wearing a collar which contained multi-colored cartoon bones with a pink buckle. (Photo attached).
If you recognize the collar on this dog or have any information, please call Crime Stoppers at 217-423-TIPS. You do not have to give your name. Crime Stoppers will pay $500 or more for information that leads to an arrest on the crime of the week. In addition, Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation has agreed to donate $500 and Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County has also agreed to donate an additional $1,000 for the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for this crime. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On 05/11/17, sometime between 02:00am and 06:30am a burglary occurred to Carolyn’s Mega Slots which is a gaming facility, at 1621 E. Eldorado St. The suspect or suspects made entry to the building and removed an ATM that had cash stored inside the machine.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On 02/13/17, it was reported that a burglary occurred to Pass The Buck which is a gaming facility, at 2605 N. Water St. This burglary occurred sometime between the hours of 12:00am and 4:42am, on 02/13/17. The suspect or suspects made entry to the building and removed an ATM that had cash stored inside the machine.

News Release 03/06/17
The Illinois State Police needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On 02/09/17, at 7:35pm, a Personal Injury Hit and Run Accident occurred on I72 and mile marker 148.
The suspect vehicle in this accident is possibly a 2006 to 2009 Chevy Impala with dark silver tarnished paint. The vehicle was traveling Eastbound on I72 at the intersection of I72 and mile marker 148. The suspect vehicle was in the right lane and crossed the fog line striking two pedestrians which caused serious injury to one of the pedestrians. The suspect vehicle then continued driving East on I72.
